• Notify your provider ASAP if you suspect a urinary tract infection (UTI) or vaginal infection so your procedure can be rescheduled and the infection treated prior to the procedure being performed
  • Arrive at the office 10 minutes prior to your appointment
  • Clip/Wax vulva (not shave) per your provider’s recommendations
  • Refrain from anything in the vagina, aspirin (ASA), ibuprofen, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) for 48 hours prior to the procedure
  • Have your Aquaphor and RectiCare ready for use as soon as you get home; one small tube of each should suffice for each procedure, external use only (RectiCare can be purchased later as many will not need it and it is expensive)
  • Wear loose fitting pants/dress/skirt, loose cotton undergarments
  • You may need some pads for watery discharge or minor bleeding; one will be provided after your treatment

  • Apply your Aquaphor and RectiCare (if needed) as directed
  • Gently cleanse the area with mild soap and water twice daily for the first couple days postop
  • No intercourse for two to three days or until comfortable
  • Avoid the use of tampons for seven days post-treatment
  • No swimming, bathing, or hot tubs for seven days or until healed
  • Expect a postop follow up call the next business day
  • We will call you 12 months after your first treatment to check up and schedule ‘touch up’ treatments
